Though I doubt anyone on the Internet knows this, my IRL friends can guarantee you that recently I have become consumed by Hellboy, an American comic book series. A few months ago, I learned that Hellboy II: The Golden Army would be opening July 11th- get your tickets!- and was directed by Guillermo Del Toro, the director of Pan's Labyrinth- which kicked ass- I knew that I just HAD to watch the first movie so i could watch the second. so I did, and needless to say, I fell in love.
Being a noob to the fandom, I decided to do research on the series, as well as research on its creator, Mike Mignola. Looking onto his Wikipedia page, where I hoped to find at least some basic facts about him, I read at the bottom something that made me fall out of my chair... "Mignola and the creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, Kazuki Takahashi, once participated in an art exchange. Takahashi, who is a fan of American comics, drew a picture of Hellboy with Yugi Mutou's hairdo, a Millennium Puzzle, and a duel disk. Mignola drew a picture of Hellboy wearing a Millennium Puzzle and a T-Shirt with Yugi's face, and the two exchanged their artwork. These pictures can be seen in an American issue of Shonen Jump."
JSYK, the issue is Volume 2, Issue 9, so if you have it, I suggest you take a flip through the pages again. For those of you who don't have it, fear not! After searching the web for hours, I was able to find a scan of the page in question... EDIT (7/2/08 4:00PM): Better quality picture found by immicolia! Thanks! ^_^
